Manicure Monday: Accidental Nail Art

This manicure is a very similar pattern to last week's manicure but that's a bit of an accident, I was originally just going to be posting about OPI Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It but by the time I came to write this post it had evolved into this:

Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil

I love skincare oils, up until about 18 months ago I was scared of using oil on my face- I've got combination oily skin and the idea of using oil on my already oily skin seemed like a terrible idea but as I started to get more into skincare reading online blogs I realised what I should be worrying about was excess oil. Skin naturally has oil to protect it, if we keep stripping away the natural oils without replacing them it's going to produce more and more oil. I could go on alot longer about why oil is great for your skin but I think I'll probably write a whole blog post and actually start reviewing the product I'm supposed to be reviewing.

Rouge Dior in Gala Pink #357 is a pale pink with a touch of coral.

Manicure Monday: Aztec Inspired Nails

I'd had relatively dark polish on my nails for the last few weeks so I when I came to do this manicure I really wanted something bright and my Pinterest page seemed to be covered in Aztec inspired designs so I thought I'd give it a go. 

My Favourite Lipsticks: YSL Rouge Volupté Spicy Pink

I found Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Spicy Pink #20 at my local Debenhams in a half price sale. It's probably not a colour that I'd have picked up if it wasn't in the sale, that's one of my favourite things about sales- other than the savings- but that it makes me look at colours outside your comfort zone and colours you might overlook if they were surrounded by their brighter more exciting cousins. 

Before I found this lipstick I hadn't found a nude that I liked so I'd started to ignore them, but it was the only lipstick they had so I swatched it, I liked the colour and I love the YSL formula so for half price I thought why not? And now it's made it onto my favourite lipsticks! 

My Favourite Lipsticks: MAC Viva Glam VI

Not all my favourite lipsticks are by MAC but I was on a bit of a MAC lipstick roll so I thought I do another! MAC Viva Glam VI is my most repurposed makeup product ever- It used to be my favourite lipstick until I found MAC Dubonnet  and it's still a close second.

I only really started to wear Orange lipsticks this summer so it didn't take long for Morange to make it's way onto my list of favourites.

My Favourite Lipsticks: MAC Dubonnet

This is the first in a series of my favourite lipsticks post and as my current favourite MAC Dubonnet seems like the best place to start. It's been my favourite lipstick for about a year and a half now, I think I've bought 3 tubes of it so far and it's the lipstick I used for my profile picture and to make the kiss logo. So while this is a review it's about as positive as you can get!

Hi world!

I love makeup, nails, skincare and everything beauty so I decided to start a blog- what better excuse could I have to spend more time on it? I'm expecting this blog to be mostly beauty with a few personal posts thrown in every now and then but who knows what I'll end up writing about?
